Hello, fellow bloggers! I hope you are doing better than me. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me lately, and I just needed to express my frustration about the declining views on my WordPress blog. So, let’s get personal and dive into my blogging journey.
You know, there was a time when my blog was flourishing. I started publishing, and within a few hours the notifications started coming in. I felt like I was on top of the world, and my confidence soared. But now, it is a different story. That information has become elusive, and I’m left wondering if I’m doing something terribly wrong.
First, let me address the elephant in the room: Is it just me, or has blogging lost its allure? Well, maybe it’s a little bit of both. The digital landscape has evolved very rapidly, and it’s not the same as it was when I started. Competition is fierce, and readers’ attention spans have greatly shortened. It’s like trying to stand out in a crowded room where everyone is shouting.
I’ve tried everything I could think of. I’ve changed up my posting schedule, experimented with different content, and even dabbled in SEO. It seemed to work for a while, but then, it all went haywire again. It’s like playing a never-ending game of trial and error, and it’s seriously frustrating.
I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. In the blogging community, there is a sense of solidarity in our struggles. I have talked to other bloggers and many of them are facing the same problem. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone, but it’s also frustrating to see so many talented writers struggling to make their voices heard.
What makes it even more confusing is that there doesn’t seem to be any straightforward solution. It’s like trying to crack a code that keeps changing. What worked last year may not work today. To say the least, it’s making me feel ignorant and frustrated.
But despite all the challenges, there is something about blogging that keeps drawing me back. Perhaps it’s the thrill of connecting with readers, the joy of expressing your ideas, or the satisfaction of seeing your ideas come to life on screen. It’s a passion that’s hard to give up, no matter how frustrating it may be.
So, as I embark on this tumultuous journey of blogging with sinking thoughts, I can’t help but wonder if there’s a silver lining waiting for me. Maybe it’s about embracing changes, finding new ways to engage your audience, and never giving up. After all, it’s not just about the numbers; It’s about the love of writing and sharing your thoughts with the world.
In the end, I may be clueless and frustrated, but I’m not ready to give up just yet. Blogging may have lost some of its allure, and the struggle is real, but it’s a passion that runs deep. And who knows, maybe one day, I’ll crack the code, and those visions will start coming again. Until then, I’ll keep typing, hoping for that defining moment. Dear readers, thank you for being a part of my journey and giving me personal insight into my WordPress problems.
Are you guys facing the same issue??
Do tell me !!!
Since I have started blogging, it seems my stats have gone up consistently. I haven’t experienced many problems with themes or technical issues, aside from WordPress unfollowing people for me. Ultimately I am not in it to have my voice heard per se. Or to amass followers or make money. I am writing because it is something that I love. Blogging is enjoyable for me because of that. I enjoy reading the writing of others as well. I enjoy the writing prompts and challenging myself and learning. If people want to read what I put out there, great. I started this blog to share my journey in life / with Jesus, and I am doing that! Mission accomplished.❤️🙏🏻
Congratulations!!!!
I m really happy for you!!!
For me it’s haphazard
There are good days and bad days
Currently it’s in the bad days pjase
Fabulous piece! We have all been there. Thankfully, I arrived at the place where reaching out, is my blog goal. Period. Leaving my try. Period. THAT is enough. Your words will and DO get to where they were meant to get to. Your words are changing lives. Many folk honestly don’t have time to like every piece. Or, like me, they enjoy them so much they could spend days in them.
If you are writing solely for finance sake or for likes, pray and keep doing what you are doing. If you are writing to teach and edify, well you ARE. If you are writing for satisfaction, know you are touching lives.
Whatever. No matter. Write writer! It’s what we DO, eh?
I so agree
But today is one of those days where I feel low with my blog !!!
I m pretty sure I will pull myself together tomorrow!!!
It’s okay to NOT be okay, today. I shall keep the faith for you, today. This is but your fuel, beloved. You are just finding out how much you truly want your dreams. Have faith in YOU. You will NOT let yourself down. You shall see…
Amen to that.🥰
Writer’s write. I have been praying for God to monetize EVERY writer who is doing their best to uplift the world. In the meantime, we shall keep doing what we do, eh?
Absolutely!❤️🙏🏻
How can I follow you? My blogger journey is also Christ-led.
Where are you reading, in a web browser or on the WordPress app? If you view my blog in a web browser and scroll down, there should be a button to click to follow. Or you can click on any post, scroll to the bottom, click “like”, and then an option should appear that says “follow this blog?” In the app reader, the follow button should be at the top of the page under my blog title.
Are you from Lititz, Pennsylvania?
I’m officially a follower! Yes. I live in Lititz. Did you read that in my recent blog?
Yes! I live in Akron! Right down the road.
Crazy small world! My husband grew up in Lititz. I’m from Hempfield. I’m a mom blogger of adult daughters. How long have you been blogging?
I grew up in the Denver/Adamstown area. I’ve moved around a bit. I have been blogging for a little more than a year.

Ahw thank you.😊 I do see others mention struggles with SEO and themes and such. I am fortunate in that I don’t have those issues I guess. When I say gone up consistently, that doesn’t mean up each month, but on average. Some days/weeks/months are “better than others”. I try to always read what you and others share.
That’s always the moto!!
It’s continuous growth that matters
I am finally starting to feel some momentum from WP readers after a year of blogging. I don’t know if that is good or bad. I am learning patience and perseverance are key. I am going to start sharing to Substack to network with others who appreciate my words!
It’s actually good !!!
You do you !!!
Can u tell me about the substack
Even I want to do the same
I have a blog, also. I had followers with SEO techniques, but the global pandemic really changed things. I think a lot of people are blogging about one type of topic now: addiction, recipes, pets, travel, photography, etc. A blog usually goes with business websites too, like as an update of new items, exciting changes, new employee members…
I would not take it personally, even though it feels that way. Content creation seems to be multi-factor IG, TikTok, FB, or others.
I may just make my blog all about my photos, or a separate one for business.
I started as a “life journey” blog. The attention span is getting shorter and shorter for the general public.
Since you wanted insight-you could be satisfied that your current followers do read, but don’t have time to comment, or if the “numbers” are affecting your outlook or self-esteem try different niche topics of interest. Like a featured topic series. I hope this was helpful.
I am still a follower of yours, if that helps! I hope so! ☺️)
Thankuuu so much!!
I really needed this !! I felt like no one was reading it and that demotivated me
Thanku for staying
Thanks a ton for commenting
I’ve had very odd results with my blog at blogger.com. I worked hard to get views and was up to maybe a thousand a day average and it was improving until I criticized N.S.A. surveillance of Americans. For the next several years it crashed down to maybe 3 or 4 views a day. So I moved to WordPress where I have consistent yet few views and a few followers. I haven’t understood or tried much to increase views at WordPress.
I tried everything to increase views at blogger. Then a couple months ago I discovered that my category listings were missing for search engines. So I gave every post a category and voila! next month I got 89,000 views. Thus I choose to start ad sense advertising again; clicked the box and voila! my views crashed to about 10 per day.
I have tried to make sense of it and it seems more like random possibilities for discovering what magic check-off act will work.
At any rate if you can use PayPal for buy a coffee support that would be simpler for may people that don’t like to sign up for many of those cash transfer services.
Best wishes….good writing!
I can do relate to this
Before I signed up for adsense each of my post was getting 10k views
Now hardly anything!!!
I really don’t know what I m messing up
I m also struggling with seo and stuff
I didn’t get the PayPal stuff ?
Good morning. No paypal connection. I don’t recall what it is now…requires more sign up. Yes, it was adsense that I used to before this month’s crash. If you check categories for all posts maybe they were blanked with the change , need to be recategorized, and wait for a while for search engines to discover them? A theory.
Thankuuu will check on ittt
What other apps are alternative for buy me coffee??
I have to figure it out with category and stuff
I don’t know. There should be a way to add PayPal yet they only need an email address. I would like to chat yet I must put some boards up on a shed in a couple of days then turns cold. I would Google the question a bit. I seem to recall some way to add an HTML button… Best…
Some say PayPal no longer uses buy me a coffee. Yet there is this website that might be a workaround https://www.widg.io/examples/paypal-button-for-coffee-donations I believe it’s possible to find something…back to work though
Sorry for not being neat about this. Here is another site 🙂 https://wpforms.com/best-buy-me-a-coffee-alternatives/#:~:text=Coindrop,-Coindrop%20is%20very&text=The%20open%2Dsource%20app%20integrates,Patreon%2C%20and%20other%20subscription%20platforms.
Because of you making this post, you connected me with Karen. We live in the same county. You never know what will come from your journey.🌏😎
Thanks for sharing ☺️
“but it’s a passion that runs deep…”
keep this in mind as you express it so beautifully…. keep going, dear Al… we reading and enjoying….others will too🤍🤗🙏
I’ve experienced the same issues. I thought about switching over to another type of site for blogging, or making my own. I just don’t know how to.
Samee
I enjoy blogging. Every month I keep trying to increase my numbers, but that is hard. Making me obsessed with #s instead of my writing. I also try to read others’ blogs, plus I have a family. I can’t do it all. This month, I threw in the towel. I write everyday, once a day, but don’t pressure myself to produce more just to increase numbers. This is supposed to be enjoyable, not a to-do list.
Yeah I tell the same thing to myself to not lose the spark
On the good days it’s fine but on the bad days it comes haunting
I am still pretty new to all of this! I only have a handful of followers, and I am lucky to get a few views on my posts. But I’m not necessarily doing this for views either. I just thought this would be a great way for me to sharpen my writing skills and help out fellow writers! I would definitely like to gather a big enough audience though, so that maybe I can do this as a living, but I don’t think that is going to happen :/ Fingers crossed that things start picking up for everyone!
Yeah let’s hope !! I think it will
I find it appropriate that I stumbled upon this post at this time as I’m also going through a down period in viewership. I’ve been writing on here since July and struggled to gain viewers at first, but the struggled ended when I started answering the daily writing prompts. In August, I earned my first like and follower and started to get email notifications of fellow writers liking my content and even got a few followers every now and then. September was a great month for my site. So much so that I eventually had to turn the email notifications off because the amount of likes I would get weekly. It was personally unbelievable to me! 😂
It sucks that I can’t say the same for this month though. It started off decently for my site, but started to have a considerable decline in the second week of October. I’ve been struggling to gain viewership just like when I first started out in July. Life is full of ups and downs and I guess you and I are both going through a down period with our sites at the moment. I hope we get outta this rut soon 😂
By the way, I wanted to comment on this post not only because I noticed that we’re both going through the same situation, but because I also noticed that we have the same theme for our site “Twenty Fourteen”. You have good taste! 😁👍
We will get through it i promise !!! We got this !!!!
